Really?

This dog does NOT like to go for a walk.
We put the leash on and ...
he plops down flat on the ground.
He refuses to move ...

So we bribe him with treats and pats ...
but we still end up dragging him along!

Things went a little better tonight when Ben took him out with Gus ... although Gus was not a big fan of having a walking companion!!
Are there really dogs that don't like going on walks?  Gus has loved them since day one!

Happy Thoughts

Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.
~Abraham Lincoln

Love this quote!  I thought I would sort of keep track of all the little things that make me happy (hopefully weekly)!  You know ... the kind of things that usually get lost in the middle of crazy schedules, to-do lists and mini-meltdowns.

So this week's little things are  ...

Going to lunch with my 2 boys on Saturday afternoon,

Reading a new book with Sam and having him tell me all that he somehow knows about owls,

Getting a text message from Susie to help her decide between rainbow sherbet and raspberry sherbet - she chose raspberry!  and had such a fun time out with friends.

Mother's Day

I felt loved this Mother's Day!

Steve went in to see patients in the morning so,
I woke up to Susie giving me breakfast in bed...
Toast with Jam, Fruit and a Glass of Icy Diet Coke!
(she even brought some for my usual stow-a-way, Sam, cuz she remembered wanting to eat in bed when she as little.)
As we ate she played songs from her i-pod that she had picked just for me ...
The Best Day by Taylor Swift,
I'll Always Remember You, Miley Cyrus,
I Want You, Savage Garden,
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper,
My Life Would Suck by Kelly Clarkston ;)
and we just chatted and laughed,
priceless.
Afterwards she even went down to clean the kitchen up!

Then I took my sheets off to wash because Sam got cinnamon toast all over - lol
perfect!

Later Steve barbequed steak for dinner and Ben made cinnamon rolls for dessert.
I loved the new pillows and candle they got me too!

Once in a Lifetime

Today Susie and I participated in the Girl Scout Golden Gate Bridging event!

It's a Girl Scout tradition to 'bridge' from one level to the next and we have been looking forward to this event for years (it is only available for Junior Girl Scouts moving up Cadettes).   It was an incredible event that hosted 5,200 Girl Scouts from 14 different states (Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Washington).
We had such a good time being with so many girls, trading S.W.A.P.S., walking across the bridge, and roaming through all of the event booths.  Definitely a once in a lifetime moment that we will always remember being a part of!

We started on the North (Marin) end of the bridge and walked across the bridge to San Francisco
